PT 12.5 Focusrite scarlett 18i20 Issue

Hi fellas

I know the problem was covered here at Duc and eventually solved,but it seems i've losi something so if anybody could join and help i would apreciated it.
Well i was running PT 12.5 Windows 10 with maudio project mix io as interface,now i'm trying to change to focusrite scarlett 18i20 plus a scarlett octopre to sum more inputs.
The trouble as you may know is that PT freezes when i open a project and appears the messenge "PT can't initialize focusrite USB driver".
Already try to reaserch on the focusrite pages but othing seems to help.
It's important to say that sometimes the thing works fine,i always match the sample rate of PT with that of focusrite via mixer control but as soon at the problem occurs i can't put it back to work again.
I'm using the focusrite latest drivers and of course maybe my current version of pro tools could be the cause of the problem.
Is it time to upgrade to the PT latest version?
I'm back now to project mix cause i have lots of work to do but don't want to lose my investment.
Is there anybody familiar with this?

Hi Blackers,

The 18i20 doesn't always lend itself to easy setups with PT. You don't need to change your PT version for it to work, but you must get the correct combination of driver/mix software for your system.

You must post your system specs in order to get proper help. I'm on Windows, and in my case (about 2 years ago) the drivers on their website didn't work for me. After shuttling back and forth for 2 weeks with Focusrite support, I was given a couple of beta drivers to try. One of them eventually worked with its compatible version of mix control.

That said, if you are on Windows, you have to set up your Sound properties correctly. Pt does not like to share.

Your best bet would be to contact Focusrite. It will definitely work if it's properly set up. Good luck.
