Pro tools 9 ASIO problems

So i just bought pro tools 9 and i am having a extremely hard time setting it up, i have the latest ASIO4all drivers set up and everything ready to go and i have read all the troubleshooting threads and avids own troubleshooting but i cant seem to figure it out. I dont have hardware yet but wanted to just run it through my audiocard with asio installed already which i thought was possible with the new version

On the avid site it says their is a drop down menu for the play back engine when you hold down "N" at the startup screen, well i do this their is no option to choose different then ASIO4all which obviously not working and it says i should try pro tools aggregate I/O or however you spell it which is not a option

Not quite the same issue, but when I installed PT9 it 'lost' my 003r and played through my line 6 podxt pro instead. The only interface showing as available on the drop down was the pod. I had to use device manager to update the 003r driver manually to get it to appear.

So I'd check your sound card drivers are up to date / compatable.

check your ASIO4ALL set up window. it will have probably defaulted to the digital outputs of your onboard sound... change it to the regular outputs and voila, sound
