Unhappy wizzoverb with digi 001 problem

I know I'm old school still using the digi 001, but can anyone help me with this problem? Every time I try to use the wizzoverb plug-in it completely messes up the tempo--as if it were working like some delay gone wild. It's not that I have it set too wet--I've tried all kinds of settings. Anyone help? Thanks
