No JKL? EQ per Clip?

Hey Folks,

As some of you probably realize, navigating a video with JKL is common in post production. Is there anyway to get Pro Tools to recognize JKL?

Also, is there a way to commit an effect to a particular region without moving it to another track in PT 2019.12 Native?

No JKL, that's pretty much just in video NLE's. Look up transport options in the manual.

For EQ you can use clip effects. For a plugin you can render Audiosuite or write automation.

Considering many of us take video/audio from Media Composer, having no JKL even with video in Pro Tools is a gross oversite. And then there is the no surround sound mixing in native like pretty much every competitor. But I digress.

Thanks for reminding me about clip effects. I will look into that.

You can use the Shuttle Lock commands on the numeric keypad instead of JKL, which might get you close. On Mac, Ctrl+5 is realtime shuttle forward, numbers lower than 5 are slower and higher than 5 are faster. The + and - keys change direction, and can be used in conjunction with the other commands to start shuttling in reverse, for example. These aren't single key commands, but might still be helpful.
