CD Audio extraction glitches?????

Ever since I switched to system 8, I have had major problems extracting audio from CD's. I never had this with any other OS; but now with toast audio extractor I get pops, clicks, burst errors and just random noise in my extracted CD audio files. Anyone know what is up with this.
