adat i/o w/ piggybacked project card?

i am wondering if i can use an adat i/o to interface 16 in/outs to a Mackie Digi 8 buss from a "piggyback" project system (nubus) Anybody know?

I know that you can't use an adat I/O simultaneously with a digi interface(882,888 etc) if your running a project-pci card. Project-pci card only supports the use of one of these interfaces at a time. Maybe its the same for project-nubus card? Frustrating, I know. Being an mutli-adat owner, as well as project-pci, my sytem would be so much more flexible, if I could run ADAT BRIDGE I/O, and DIGI INTERFACE (882,888 etc) simultaneously. Sort of makes protools users at my level feel a little forgotteb by digidesign!
