Default Delay compensation issue? Note playback ahead of time

Hopefully I'm just doing something wrong. I already have MIDI drums recorded on a song, and everything's fine with that. I recorded some piano (Pianoteq, "pessimistic" polyphony) on another instrument track, and while the notes are recorded on time, and I hear the notes on time while recording, playback and even bouncing has the notes sounding noticeably ahead of time.

I tried disabling delay compensation, but then everything sounded outta whack.

12.7, 10.12.3 (and hopefully it's not that OSX, which isn't yet officially unsupported)

Midi timing has been a bit off for a while now. Best bet is to use the original midi file as your timing benchmark and nudge the audio so it starts on time. There are likely to be timing issues that will cause phasing if the printed(committed) audio is played back WITH the original midi/instrument track, but since that would not be something you WOULD do, I suspect the minuscule timing discrepancies will not actually be noticeable(after all, no human will play every note perfect, every time).

I hope Avid coders don't accept excuses like this

Not an excuse at all I've been bashing them for a while and have given Avid plenty of hard evidence(as have many others). I really have no clue why its taking this long to fix the issue

Delay Compensation is one of the most time-consuming things to fix, and you notice it immediately when something goes wrong. I know, I beta-tested PT7-10 and some of the beta builds were horrible.

Almost as time-consuming to fix as the infamous Noise Blast issue

It's definitely something wrong in the session or a bug. It plays back at about an 1/8th note ahead of time. I'm human, but I'm not THAT human.

For sure, that's bad. In my testing, I am seeing offsets of 2-20 samples, but what you describe is way worse than anything I've ever seen
