PT 5\' new features & Pro Control. Digi?
Copy from Tips section,
no responce there from digi, trying here now...... Author Topic: Will 5.0 inlcude a new ProControl profile? John McDaniel posted 11-18-99 07:16 PM At AES, the new features of PT 5.0 were not implemented on the ProControl and there was little that was encouraging from the likes of Wendy Abowd and Mike Rockwell, et al on the prospect a new profile making it into the inital release of 5.0. Any news about this from the Digi reps here on the DUC? thanks, jrm Julian Standen posted 11-18-99 08:36 PM Yes, I too heard disturbing reports of 'half baked'or non Pro Control operation of PT 5 at the NYC AES as well as shoulder shrugging as to the future operation of PT 5 on a Pro Control surface from the reps there. (In particular, about how the new key presses were to be implemented). Perhaps AES was 'too early' or 'everyone was busy getting 5 out', perhaps the reports were false, whatever. Time marches on. Can digi now throw some light on this important issue for Pro Control owners please? How will the new key presses and other new options be incorperated? TIA Owner Julian Standen Matthew Saccucci Morano posted 11-19-99 08:57 AM We've been running a Beta of PT5 for over a month now and although there is no real major new implementation of the ProControl surface, it still works like a champ. Fear Not! John McDaniel posted 11-20-99 06:10 AM Matthew: Can you Trim With Scrub with the Jog Wheel? Can you select the variety of new Tools from the ProControl? Just a few of the many items desired from 5.0. later, j mcd Matthew Saccucci Morano posted 11-22-99 11:45 AM Well...no to both. At least in the Beta. You still select the Smart Tool by simultaneously pressing the tool buttons. Also, we don't have a manual or anything because it's the Beta. I suppose (and hope) that there might be some newly-implemented key combos we just haven't found yet by blindly knocking about. Julian Standen posted 11-23-99 09:15 AM OK, this has been up for a while, now can we please have a responce from Digi? Why is there always a news blackout or "go slow" on Pro Control issues but whenever someone needs advice on a - do it yourself card order set up , digi are right there with a quick responce. The desks cost a lot more than a mix farm! Jules Julian Standen posted 11-24-99 04:18 AM Up to the top. Come on Digi, don't you realise people interested in buying Pro Control track these threads too? Always leaving us hanging till we shout is getting kind of old now...
