I just solved my 9093 problem after about a year. Here is what I would try first.

1. Try using Microsofts standard IDE driver instead of the one for you MB. Also check to see if there's updates for your MB.

2. Try using your ATA management utility (if you have one) to change your drives from ATA133 to ATA 66 or even ATA 33. Thats what finally fixed my problems.

3. Check for IRQ conflicts. Try using a specific harware windows configuration that has eveything but you vid card and DIGI dissabled.

4.Make sure there's nothing running in the background (cntrl+Alt+Del and see what all shows up) If you have too, run msconfig from the run box and dissable everything you don't need in your startup selections.

5. If your using a promise controller, or a RAID array, thats prob your problem.

Search further for 9093,9094 erros and you'll find this is a very popular problem.

Hope this gets it, check back if it doesn't

yea, Mine was a WD that was at 133, and they have a ATA management utility on there intall disk. I don't think I got one with my Maxotor. I'd check with Maxtor on that, see how its done. If you can't I don't know what to tell you, I was trying to figure it out for a while myself. I'm pretty sure thats what it is...

Sorry your still haveing this problem, I pulled my hair out for almost a year. It really sucked. I was dancing when I finally fixed it.

I've read of some problems with the Promise controllers, but I haven't done research on the good side. Search the DUC. one thing I know would work is to get a Firewire enclosure for your drive. I'm about to do this myself.. there cheap. Start at like 40 bucks. Just make sure you get one with the Oxford 911 chipset. It makes anydrive an external Firewire drive. And there hotswappable too!!!

Digi was no help to me, as it seams with most people with this problem. Did you make any headway with your problem?

I just put my hard drives on the IDEs and put my CD and DVD on the promise controller.
Are you using ATA100 cables?
cheers Roly
