I played with the older version a while ago. Pretty cool if I remember correctly. Def wouldn't mind giving it another try. I was happy to see that in an email earlier myself.

I like how, as an owner of the original TDM version (I think it was like $499 list new), they dropped support of it soon after I bought it. Now they want me to pay $79 to downgrade to RTAS, just so I can use it again in modern Intel computers. I really don't like this company, they are always charging for upgrades (there's a new version of AutoTune every year), or just discontinuing their plugins altogether (Tube, and Filter plugins for example).

This is actually an exceptionally good and underrated plugin, specifically for correctly proximity effect. Providing that is still a feature on this version, the plugin allowed you to make an vocalist or VO artist sound closer or farther away from the mic. There has been nothing as effective since. I have not used it for changing mic types really, but for the proximity effect it is pretty indispensable for post and music. Great when you are punching in takes later on a slightly different setup or distance.

Glad it is back.

Exactly...the proximity dial worked wonders for me many times. I even redid part of a vocal done on a Manley gold, with a M149...and the modeler really worked in matching those two rather different sounding microphones.

It was also fun to play with on drum microphones...especially bad recordings
