Default Best way to sync offset an external monitor?

Hey everyone,

I use pro tools for post production and am going to tracklay on a 27 inch iMac with the video being played on a MacBook Pro connected with a thunderbolt cable.

I'm just wondering is there an easy way to figure out the video offset instead of getting footage of someone saying "papa" on screen haha.

A special video we can download maybe with image plops?

Thanks for any help :)

Please visit Syncheck for the tool to help you solve this problem.

If you will be in San Francisco for AES later this month, please consider attending
Broadcast and Media Streaming: B13 - Lip Sync Issue. Someone from AVID is giving a presentation on this issue. Note that there is a fee for being able to attend this type of session.

Anyone working in post that has to deal with lip sync should attend that session, if for no other reason than to gain insight into what is (or isn't) going on inside of Pro Tools in this context.
