Default Trash Can 10 Core Not Supported?

Looking to upgrade my Trash can's processors and noticed on the PT Ultimate 2019 requirements that the 4, 6, 8 & 12 core are listed but not the 10 Core. Why?

Because Apple never sold a 10-core Trashcan. I have one, but I needed to swap the (custom 3.0GHz 10-core) processor in myself.

I realized that after I posted.
OWC will do the swap with a 1 year warranty for about $1k.
So the 10 Core works fine? Or I can go for the 12 core for a bit more.
Trying to eek a bit more life out of these things before switching to something else.

10-core is great. Slightly better on single-core and slightly worse on multi-core, compared to 12-core

6 or 8 core are fast and PLENTY for running PT even if you edit video in post etc. 12 is overkill (we have 3 12 core) but those were written off in our company and had paid for themselves the first two days after finishing up a big lucky song placement

we also have a 6 core I use in my home and use 99% VI and many many many plugins and edits and automations etc so I would get the version you can stomach the price. We will sell all 3 12 core machines very soon as we will be getting 3 new ones and this time we dont need the biggest CPU models as it is a huge overkill with 10 or 12 core.

Get great SSD’s and plenty of ram instead as that makes way more noticable difference than 12 cores. Just IMHO of course but we do live off of music and will put the money saved by getting the mid range on even more outboards this time around!

My 1 core was paid off after I went and delivered tacos for 3 weeks via uber eats to a d list artist working in Bk. She said if I delivered tacos I would get the mix on her sound cloud single.

I got the mix but she paid me in exposure because she has 1k Instagram followers but no record deal or budget. I got a couple likes and stuff on my social media but that didn't help pay off my other 2 core machine.

So I'm just delivering food now.

I'm n a 4 Core now running OS 10.10 and PT 12.5 on HD Native.
Looking to update OS and PT to a little more current version.
Suggestions. I run two suites that record and mix post about 40 Hours a week to multiple QT's and usually about 20 tracks with moderate Plug Ins.

If you are running kontact I would get higher clock speed less cores. But I think min 8 core. But if clock speed are all the same I would get 12 core. You should be able to run that for another 5 years. Easy. If you go to Mojave.
