Default Ezdrummer vs BFD

Which is better in your opinion? I am having some trouble with bfd, for example I cannot figure out how can I drag some groove to my instrument/midi channel. Ok, it can be my fault, but I have more problems.
Anyway how can I drag that ... groove to midi track?
Maybe a little how to use bfd would help me.
Oh, I'm on pc.
Thanks, Tamas Dragon

Keep in mind that drag and drop doesn't work in older versions of PT (like 6.4). You didn't mention which version you are using, so...

To drag and drop grooves from BFD to PT, you press ctrl and then click and drag. This information is covered in Chapter 8, page 44 of the BFD manual. You might want to have another read through that, as that is pretty basic, but vital information. The manual also covers the "how to use BFD" part pretty well.

You might also benefit from the tutorials on my website.

I use 7.3.1 with cs4 update on a windows machine, but holding down ctrl and drag the groove to the instrument track does not work for some reason. I don't know what I am doing wrong, but tomorrow I may try once more. I have used bfd stereo just for experimenting it, but this dragging don't want to work.

I use BFD in this manner every day. That's how it works.

Are you using the full version of BFD or the BFD Lite that comes in the Ignition pack?

bfd lite, but to be fair I don't even know what is the real difference between the two.
Is there any if I buy some extension packs?

If you're using the one from the first ignition pack, make sure you're using the updated version from the Ignition Pack Updates page.

IIRC, the version that comes with the original ignition pack does not support drag and drop, but updating will fix that problem.

I have EZDrummer with the Rock/Pop, DFH, Custom & Vintage, Latin Percussion, and the Cocktail kits. It's a wonderful plugin, and like the name says it's very easy to use. I have the BFD Lite aswell, but since I got EZDrummer it doesn't get much use.

I don't think you can compare it to the full version of BFD though...

I like ezdrummer because I can drag and drop the .wav file onto a audio track OR a MIDI track. I can decide whether I want my Roland XP80 to play it or have the sound come from the recorded .wav. Also, the ability to tweek the sound file is extremely easy. You adjust it to how you want it, then drop it in. Piece of cake.
