Default Tempo automation

I'm sure this has been answered here and on the web but maybe I'm not searching for it correctly as I'm having a problem finding an answer so please forgive me if this is a redundant question. How do I copy tempo automation?
AND is there any way to copy tempo automation while I'm copying notes simultaneously? This seems unnecessarily difficult!
Thx in advance!
