Default Pro Tools 7.4 not working with OS 10.4.11
I just upgraded my computer to a PPC dual core 2.0ghz, and 7.4 isn't working with OS 10.4.11. Launch stalls at DAE launch, then says either to connect hardware or that it is being used by another program. I had none of these problems with the same configuration on my G4. I've done fresh reinstalls of the OS and Pro Tools. What should I do?

What version of 7.4? You should NOT be using 7.4.2

go to the CS updates page and download the latest version for your system
I have a similar system and it's working fine

I'm up to date on everything. 7.4cs8. OS 10.4.11 combo update. Installed the last security update. I've spent hours searching for a solution. Anyone have any suggestions?

Problem solved. Apparently, the 002 only works on the front FireWire port.
