Default MIDI Bank Select Entries Not Being Retained in PT7

Hi folks,

This midi related problem seems new to PT7 ... I am now using 7.1 cs3.
When entries are typed in the bank field in the patch select dialog, they are not retained. Dashes replace the data entered in the bank select fields. Program numbers, however, are kept. Can others replicate this behavior? If so, I hope the problem is fixed soon.
thanks,
jep

Will this problem be fixed anytime soon, or is it no longer logged?

Thanks very much,

I just finished a job, and was able to upgrade to 7.2 yesterday ... It is hard to believe that this problem still exists. I started this thread in mid-January of '06

Please Digi, is this very basic midi function likely to be fixed in an early 7.2 cs update?

One of the primary reasons we use computers is the ability to recall data. It is difficult to understand why this problem has not been addressed ... and don't get me started about patch lists

thanks,

jep

CherryPicker helps with converting patchlists; I don't believe it will correct ProTools' recent inability [as of PT7] to retain Midi Bank Select entries.

when i use the pop up lists in pt 6.9 made with cherryp all works fine. banks are chosen correctly, etc. personally i would find entering the bank and patches manually in the event list a lot more of a hassle.

how come you guys don't like the pop-up lists?

are you saying that in 7 pop up lists do not work?

(strangely i recall this was once a problem in the late 4 or early 5 versions for a rev or two)

Try this Hearttimes,

In the edit window, selct program change view on a midi track.
Type bank select data in the corresponding fields.
Since Version 7, ProTools has become incapable of accepting/saving this data.

I am not talking about patch lists here; that's another matter

thanks,
