Which Macbook to use.
Hello everyone. I have the list of Avid qualified computers. I do not want to buy an older model especially if it is refurbished. Are any of you using either Macbook Pro or Air from Apples current range? and are you experiencing any problems. Thank you.

Re: Which Macbook to use.
There are many specific models that work well with Protools. In general, those with the quad core i7 processors seem to run Protools the best. Having said that, the 15" Macbook Pro Retina with the quad core i7 and 16 GB of ram is probably one of the best portable computers for Protools. We get mixed results with i5 based computers and even the dual core i7 is not ideal. Keep in mind that on the Macbook Pro Retina, the memory is soldered in, so it can not be upgraded afterwards. Get as much RAM as you need on your initial purchase.

Re: Which Macbook to use.
Thank you Obsidian Dragon. Your answer is very insightful. I was thinking about buying from the cheaper of the range. I will save extra and go for quad core.
