Can this error message be prevented by changing playback engine settings? Right now my settings are:
H/W Buffer: 512 Samples
RTAS Processors: 1 (because I have no RTAS plugins)
CPU Usage Limit: 80%
RTAS Engine: Ignore Errors box is checked
Number of Voices: 120 (5 DSP's)
Sample Rate: 44.1
Delay Compensation: Long (4095 Samples)
DAE Playback Buffer: Level 4
Requires 147 MB of system memory. You currently have 180MB allocated
Greyed Out: Minimize System Memory

Computer: 2 GHz PowerMac G5
Memory: 7GB
Pro Tools: HD2 Accel

Number of plugins desired: 76
Number that show active on tracks: 73

Just 3 plugins are greyed out -I almost made it!
Is another card absolutely necessary?

How many DSp voices are being used in the session? can you run the session less then 5 DSP's 120 voices? (can you run on 96 voices 3 dsp's) this would free up the dsp for plugins!!

you could convert some plugins to RTAS
you could use audiosuite to process some TDM plugs then remove them to free up the dsp.
you could bounce some of the tracks to free up some TDM plugs dsp

This is very likely caused because the plug-in you're trying to use requires a specific type of chip (there are 3 types on each card) and there are no more of those chips available, even if you free up a chip by reducing number of voices.

tc reports in compatibility index card that md3 is compatible both on tdm hd and tdm hd accel.so when i load md3 why does not get a free tdm hd chip while all my accel chips are full?i am working on HD 2 Accel.is not only md3.system usage show me that the hd card works only with focusright ,bomb factory,dynamics iii.all other plug-ins take resourses from accel card.can i manage it?thanks and excuse me for bad english.

got the answer: PRO TOOLS 8 .FREE UNUSED DSP.

You should disable the DSP Cache. It helps a lot.
