Default G5 date and time issue

I have a G5 1.8 dual processor with 2Gigs of memory 2 internal hard drives of 80 Gigs and 500 Gigs, recently I noiticed that everytime I turn on the G5 i Have to reset the date and time, I have it plug into a search protector at nite i turn the power of the search protector off, I dont know if this is causing this or is there something wrong with the G5,
Your help is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the internal battery has ran low. You can change the battery on the mother of all boards and reset the PRAM:

(assuming your machines about 5 years old - your right on the nose of a battery drop)

Replacing the internal battery would be the first thing to try. If that doesn't work, here is a thread that looks very similar to your problem.
