Default better to record Strike than trigger?

Hi
Do you find it is better to record strike as an audio track than to have it follow midi trigger notes? I am running LE 8.0.1 on Windows Xp Pro And have been using the midi tirgger method of controlling Strikes patterns. Everything sounds great when recording and then I play it back and Strike really seems to be dragging behind. This doesn't happen when I play my keyboard and lay midi down to trigger Expand keyboard notes, only Strike. Midi offset doesn't seem to help. The longer the song goes the more Strike seems to drag out of time with the rest of the Audio tracks of guitars, vocals etc. So I am thinking of recording Strike as audio tracks instead of midi. What do you all do to get Strike to play more in sync?
J.

There is a known bug when exporting a Strike Performance and reassigning that Performance back to Strike.

I usually have Strike on an Instrument track (stereo) go in to strike and program all the patches, then use the pencil tool to draw in the Midi track, triggering each patch when needed, maybe add some extra hits here and there ect... then once I got it perfect, in Strike I port each drum/cymbal/mic to its own mono audio track for the mixing stage.

Yeah I assign each drum Cymbal etc to it's own separate track and print it. Then it can be moved as a whole (assign the channels to a group) accordingly. The only drawback is if it doesn't fit into the final mix it has to be re-recorded, however that is usually not much of a problem though.

yeah its not usually a problem. I also sometimes use Drumagog or SPL DrumXchanger if i need a different sound instead or re-recording Strike.

Default Re: better to record Strike than trigger?

Thanks guys, all though I have tried it, I don't usually export a Strike performance. I usually do as Benoni and pencil in the pattern triggers in a midi track. However as I mentioned, I have been finding that after recording all the rest of my audio tracks, Strike seems to be lagging behind and even if I adjust the midi offset strike still seems to get further out of sync as the song goes on no matter how tight the audio performance is while recording. That is why I am tempted to print strike to audio and move the performance around as needed to keep the whole song tight. Do you not find that Strike has a hard time keeping up with the Protools midi clock and if so what have you been doing to compensate beside printing to audio? Thanks again
J.

I use MIDI Track Offset with no problems. However I do print for rough mixing.
