How much head room is given for plugins in PT?
I was wanting to know how much headroom I'm given before digital distortion occurs? For example, if I want to increase the whole song dB by placing a comp./limiter on the master fader, I can only increase it by a little bit before I get red clip. Believe me, I've messed with the ratio and threshold, and dB a lot. So, even though I see the red clip light on a limiter for example, does PT neccessarily distort? Does anyone know the exact dB aloud for headroom in PT? I can't hear any pops or distortion when it clips a little, but I was just curious.
Thanks, Stormy |
