Default Bounce to disk...

I run LE 6.4 On OS X Panther with digi 001. I want to bounce to disk, my "song" consists of two audio files, bass and drums. I want to keep them entirely seperate i.e. left and right, so that I can record the track onto ipod, and when i take that output into my pa i have independent control of the two tracks through a mono mix. I have done it before onto mini disc, but literally didnt bounce to disk before, just took seperate ouputs from the 001 onto left and right on my mini disc recorder. Now with ipod i have to import the track from my computer, thus i need it as a saved audio file. Any ideas or suggestions would be SO welcome! Thanks guys.

Pretty simple, send one track to channel 1 and the other to channel 2. Bounce interleaved, and one will be hard left, and the other hard right.

Sounds easy, when you say channel 1, wot do u mean?! And channel 2? When I do this, sure they are panned hard left and right, but they are not entirely seperate as I wnat them, i.e. some of the tracks overlap. This means I have a very small amount of drums on the bass track, and a small amount of bass on the drums track.

Hmmm. Still racking my brains over this. Seems I cant have the two audio tracks entirely seperate when I use the bounce to disc function. I would have thought this is possible. Its not a complicated mix, just two audio tracks I want to keep totally separate i.e. left and right in the mix.......(Help!)

Make one track all the way to the right, the other all the way to the left. Bounce your session as a "stereo interleaved" .wav or whatever type of file you want. You can put that file on your ipod, or convert it to an mp3 and put it on your ipod. When you play it through a PA or anything else, they'll be seperated by R and L.

Yeah, thanks for your replies guys, but doing it like this still leaves a little of each audio track overlapping, not entirely separate, as required. Sure they are panned hard left and right, but theres still a tiny bit of drums on the bass track, and bass on the drum track. Any other ideas? Is this normal?

Thanks alot for the help. It seems that when I played back the audio in Itunes after the bounce there is a little overlap, however, when I played it on my ipod, it is fine! Weird but true, so it's all good thanks alot!!

you want to bounce 1 track with track one in one ear and trac 2 in the other ear? OR bounce both to have 2 seperate audio tracks?

To have one track of audio entirely left, and one track of audio entirely right, so that when I put them in my PA i can have independent ocntrol of bass and drums on the gig to eq etc.

If you bounce it the way we've suggested, but it still doesn't work, I'd suggest checking your input on the PA. If you're using any adapters to go from mini-1/4", mini-RCA, etc... There could be many places where your signal could be made "mono". I suggest getting a mini-rca cable. Plug each side into it's own channel on the PA and make them panned hard right/left. Hope that helps.
