Removal of old version
I just purchased PT 7 +
Is it necessary to uninstall the previous version. I have read that some guys do that. Thanks |

Re: Removal of old version
The installation intructions for PT 7 say to uninstall previous versions. I did (6.8.1) and there were no problems.

Re: Removal of old version
Thanks for the reply
I can't seem to find where it says that. Could you please tell me where it states that. Is it in the Whats New or the Upgrading to Pro Tools 7 Thanks |

Re: Removal of old version
I believe that when you start to actually run the installer, it looks to see if an older version is there or if it will be installing fresh. If it detects an older version, it gives you a box instructing you to exit the installer and use the remove procedure from the system control panel to get rid of the previous version. After doing this and restarting you can then install PT7.
