Audiodeluxe and WUP madness

So I've got two plugins to finish converting to v10 - J37 and Reel ADT, both of which are like $40ish to renew.

J37 is currently $29 on Audiodeluxe, after coupons applied it's $20.71 - for a brand new licence.

I went through the process of making a WUP offer on Audiodeluxe for J37, and they have the audacity to come back to me with a counter offer of $38.

So I can either buy a completely new licence for $20.71, or buy a WUP for my current licence for $38

It's the same at Waves directly, had the same with ADT last month.

Then unless the OP want to save his vouchers for other products it makes sense to get a new one. Plugins don't get vintage...yet

Its the Abbey Road plugs is my read.
I have the Abbey Road Colection with WUP is current and the new reverb chamber
(Now included with the chamber)
Will cost 31.00. But its on sale for 21$

This seems to be the catch with the large discounts on Waves plug ins.

The plugins can be purchased very cheaply but then WUP is applied at the full plug in price.

I have received a few free Waves plug ins over the years (a couple of the One Knob series, Debreath and VU meter come to mind), and I've just decided not to WUP them.

The same with a few I bought very cheaply.

Some of the very cheap ones, I like a lot and use a lot, I've decided to WUP in order to stay current, but I'm quite selective.

It's a form of bait and switch I guess, but it is possible to be quite strategic in how you deal with it.

I don't think it's Audiodeluxe's fault, just the Waves business model.

Having said that, I have bought some great bargains from Waves over the years.
