Seriously, that box is going to be sold 99% for video people. The rest are people who really want to run HDX internal

The exclusive Apple club continues its move up the price scale.
Actually according to an article I read from the CNN site the new Mac Pro is bringing back the cheesegrater form factor. Said article even used the term 'cheesegrater'. Also as to cost keep in mind inflation.

But at least we get the cheesegrater form factor back. Even an article on CNN site mentioned the term 'cheesegrater' which means easy user upgrading. Wonder what it has in the way of internal storage other than the 1.5 TB of ram. Drive bays running direct off the pcie bus so you don't need an adapter card like the existing cheesegraters?

2x half height M.2 slots, see tech specs. Hard to say if that might be propriety or can take say, Samsung HH M.2s.

The base model 8 core starts at $6,000 and it can go to 24 cores. New 32 inch 6k displays are $6,000, extra $1,000 for the stand. So, base model mac pro and 2 displays with stands, $20,000 out the door. Wonder what a maxed out mac pro would add to that total. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see this setting in my studio but, like i said earlier, i would have to sell or take out a mortgage on my house to make it happen.

the apple.com spec page "shows" proprietary connectors so the adapter hell continues?

OSX 10.15 only for trashcan Mac Pros onwards.
Seems that 5,1 cheesegraters are done...
