I still find this a little bit strange how it all happened. Time now for Avid to put up or shut up. I HOPE these selling's of brands will make the next version of Pro Tools more affordable since they are paying less people. Just saying.

One of the main problems is that there's a big number of Pro Tools plug-ins that Avid doesn't actually develop IMO.

I think avid as a company, are restructuring internally and we are only seeing the outside part. They moved their headquarters in Massachusetts to a much smaller suite in the back of a building in Burlington. I was disappointed driving by to see how small it was lol. Although the building is huge, Its not Avids building its a ton of business in the building. Closing offices and selling lines is what big business does. Research TI. Their location in Attleboro MA was 27 buildings. They sold off the lines to other companies and moved out. Now it's occupied by the companies that purchased those lines. To an extent. Sell them when they are still profitable.

As I said earlier, the way I'm reading the tea leaves is that they appear to be moving everything up-market from Roland, Yamaha, Apple and Adobe. I certainly wouldn't look for lower prices.

I think some of the restructure is good. M-Audio sale was a good choice to me. It just started to get weird with some of the product.
