Re: Allenstein Quadzilla Machine
Thanks for your extensive response Alex. Unfortunately I've tried pretty much everything you suggested - same result. Track will run for maybe two or three seconds then error message:
"The audio device buffer underflowed. If this occurs frequently, try decreasing the "H/W Buffer Size" in the Playback Engine panel or remove other devices from the audio firewire bus. (-6085)" A little odd because my only firewire device is the 002? Plug image open or closed makes no difference. H/W buffer, processors (1,2,3 or 4), all variables in UA software seem to have little or no effect. Card is on it's own unique IRQ. Per UA tried tweeking PCI latency today - no effect. I will keep you all posted if anything does work!

Here is a message from Matt P: "I think I figured out the latest RAM QUESTION on the Quad Thread. I think if my memory severs me right the guys that are getting 2.75 GB in Windows instead of 3.0 GB are using Video Cards that have 512 MB of RAM. This forces Windows to allocate the extra space for the Video Card taking away another 256 MB from the total that Windows has available for the user to use. We can test this out on yours by installing the other Video Card you have at the same time (both cards for a total of 512 MB of Video Ram). Your RAM should drop to 2.75 GB. Give it a shot." IntelDoc and Sabe, post your graphics card stats for us and I'll run the above test and report back. Shane I think this should solve their problem.

Re: Allenstein Quadzilla Machine
You can test the RAM using memtest86.
Almost certain it has to do with the graphics card though. I'll report back my 512 test in a bit. Shane

Re: Allenstein Quadzilla Machine
Ok guys, here's the details.
I just installed my second Graphics Card(Identical to the other, Asus Extreme EN6600 256MB) which would give me a total of 512MB. My RAM dropped to 1.81 GHz, 2.75 GB of RAM. So there is our answer. I dont know what else to say other than....stick to the parts list. Shane

I'm assuming you had a computer builder build your system? Did they follow the first post to the letter including the Digidesign optimizations, the posted drivers etc and True Images along the way?? This stuff is VERY important. Quote:
