Default So after updating OS I'm having problem

Hello fellow members. I just recently updated my OS to 10.8.4 with my HD native running 10.3.10.

I just tried to open a session (that I had no problems with before on 10.6.8) and it keeps closing saying "pro tools critically low on memory" right before shut down.

Any help would be appreciated.

So you installed 10.8.4 on a clean partition and reinstalled Pro Tools like you are supposed to? Or you threw caution to the wind and did an in-situ upgrade? Use system migration assistant (assasin)?

Options are...
Test other sessions
Trash prefs and databases
Try reinstalling Pro Tools
Roll back to your last working backup
Start over with a clean 10.8.4 install (ideally to a new/spare partition)

Oh and for other reasons make sure your computer is fully optimized.

We all could be a little less rude....
Although clean installs may be ideal there are other things that could be happening.

Fist I would post your system setup after reading the http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=300050 (Help Us Help You) document.

"pro tools critically low on memory" seems related to PT 10.3.10
...see other threads on this topic , seems this version is needing
more Ram than prior versions , maybe one or few Avid plug-ins is
causing this . Big problem for a 32 bit app which is restricted to
>4gb ram . Avid should fix this ASAP as also the other bugs in this version.

After an OS update ALWAYS repair permissions trash PT preferences , if on mac.

I am on PT 10.3.8 HD on HD2accel and OS 10.8.5 and everything runs smooth.

i would drop PT 10.3.10 and go back to 10.3.9 or (if on HD hardware)
10.3.8 .

regards

Forgive my ignorance but does HD native (pcie card) count as HD hardware?

I trashed all preferences and still have the problem. I also have 24gb's of ram.

So others are finding bugs with 10.3.10?

the input monitoring bug is , so far i remember , only
on HDaccell Hardware , HDX and HDnative cards are not affected.

If you are running PT 10, you have less than 4 GB of RAM, regardless of how much more might be installed...

Just rockin'...what more is there?

How was the OS install done?

What are the results of the following (or any other) troubleshooting....

Test other sessions
Trash prefs and databases
Try reinstalling Pro Tools
Roll back to your last working backup
Start over with a clean 10.8.4 install (ideally to a new/spare partition)

And what compatibility checking of plugins have you done? Tried removing all third party plugins from the RTAS and AAX plugin folders?
