Thing is why wait to see if this new one will be in a VC8 upgrade or not? At $49 it's worth it to get it now. I don't trust Arturia to do anything.

It's to do with cost as I mentioned. For that reason I generally find being an early adopter costly, as I do find with buying every upgrade.

Take Arturia for example. Their upgrades from V Collection were $200 more than once. I passed as did many others who moaned about the cost of upgrades, especially considering they regularly offer the full bundle for $250. The upgrade price was an insult to loyal and existing customers. After many complaints from many users the upgrade offer dropped to $99 which was far more palatable. I went from V4 to V6 and got a who load of new products for that price. I have been holding off V7 as it only adds three more products. So I'm not likely to pay $50 for one unless it is unmissable.

NI are the same. I have bought products in years passed and then found it was a waste of money as they we later on included in the newer bundle with no regard to having purchased said product come upgrade time. I generally try and skip a bundle and wait for the right upgrade price with NI as I do with Arturia.

NI, Arturia and others offer no financial incentive to incremental upgraders. I just went from Reason 2.5 to Reason 11 Suite for the same price if I was a Reason 10 user. That's great for me but seems a slap in the face to those who have bought every version. They get the advantage of constant use but I obviously haven't needed it.

I have a slew of synths already. Many of them are new and unused. I'll be happy to get the new products but I'm in no rush till the deal is one I can't ignore.
