Default ASIO Next Week

Did you see this?
Quote:
-snip- The good (very good) news. Besides the XP Mbox product, is, we'll be releasing (in about a week, so I'm told) a stand alone ASIO driver for ALL digi hardware. That's right ! Finally, ASIO for Digi hardware. One of our main Windows test techs was really excited about how solid this driver was working. Look for the posting around the end of next week on the web site. Please take note of the compatibility info on this and the RTF notes as well. The ASIO driver is in continuing development. It won't feature all the "bells and whistles" right away, and it won't co-exist with our wavedriver, but it will be robust for all the basics. -snip-

Ok well I'm glad that everyone is going to be happy now but I'm still not sure exactly what these asio drivers will allow me to do. Can some one give me a little info here.

These drivers will alow us to use the digi hardware with ASIO programs, like cubase, reason and others. Therefore you could use the 001 for all your i/o but be running Cubase SX insted of LE.

That's cool, because I'll have a MBox on indefinite loan that I can use with Acid Pro 4 now, with my notebook.

Will the Digi ASIO drivers work for Win98SE or only Win XP? I sure hope it is for both but I fear it will only be for the latter... Stay tuned...
