Washed out clip colors
Hi! I replied to a thread in another section where few people are likely to look. Here: http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=385650
My question is simple. How do you get more vivid colors for the CLIPS? The tracks change as expected when you adjust saturation in the color palette window, but the clips stay pastel-like/washed out/weedy looking. I can see that other users who have posted pictures and videos online have more oompfh in their clip colors, so it must be possible to adjust it. I seem to remember some convoluted way to do this from back in the days, but I think that was for the tracks as well... Anybody?

Re: Washed out clip colors
If I'm understanding well you have to go to Setup/Preferences/Display/Color Code/Default Clip Color Coding and select Track Color. If nothing else has been changed from the default preferences the clips should look the same color as the tracks

Re: Washed out clip colors
Hi! That is not it. I get how you change colors and all it is that thee CLIPS are faint/faded on the tracks in the session. The tracks have a deep ful color!

Re: Washed out clip colors
I don't understand but to be sure, doesn't your edit window look like this? As you can see the clips are the same color of the track heads
Have you tried deleting preferences?

Re: Washed out clip colors
Actually, no... They get their own colors randomly picked by the machine... I had it set to "track type" and since they are all audio, I guess protools picks its own kind of dull colors. I can get a few bright looking ones if I set them manually from the color palette window, but nothing quite as colourful as what you have there. Perhaps you have turned the color setting up on your monitor? Perhaps ProTools needs that to come alive?

Re: Washed out clip colors
That was a screen capture so the monitor setting doesn't make a difference. Here's a screenshot of my settings, try that and see if you get the same colors. Capture.jpeg

Re: Washed out clip colors
Right. I should have thought of that... I will try later.
