Default Blackmagic UltraStudio SDI USB 3.0

Just wanted to say I've been using this device and it works really well with ProTools 10 & 11. Keep those precious thunderbolt ports available on the iMacs! :)

Nathan,
Looking at the specs it says "Windows 7 or later".
Are you using it on a Mac?

Yes, works great. :) Used it today for the first time on a new iMac on 10.8.5.

Nathan,
How does it appear in Pro Tools? Like "Video out PCIe"?

Depends if you're using ProTools 10 or 11. ProTools 10 it's VideoOutPCIE. Protools 11 doesn't have "VideoOutPCIE" per se, it just sends it to the device automatically. For 11, if you're wondering, you effectively have two video windows; one in a window on your monitor and another "out the device" to another larger display.

Does the scrubbing in PT11 work well? Or is it laggy and show a poor frame rate?

That's my dream portable box! 6 AES outs and 1 HDMI out! How did I not know about this? Maybe I didn't trust USB when I saw it. Would love to know more...

How good are the AES outs? The AES outs on my Intensity Pro card don't sound great, which is very weird because they're digital.
