Wow Benoni. This seems very important to you. You have got 15 post in this thread already.

I don't know. There are so many sections already.

I would say the most important thing is that posters are specific in the topic of their posts. This way the search function would be more relevant.

Hi Benoni,
I have a maple Pearl Session Custom (10, 12 & 14 with 22" kick). Snare is a Masters maple 14x5". Cymbals are a mix of Zildjian A Customs/Z & Sabian AAX/HHX

Mic-wise, I'm using a matched pair of Rode NT5s for overheads. I've an SM57 & AKG D112 on the kick. I just changed from an SM57 to an Opus 88 on the snare - great mic & really easy/versatile to place on the snare. I have some cheap Thomann mics on the toms, but am thinking about upgrading them to Opus 88s too. Also considerign upgrading my ADA8000 to maybe a Presonus D8 (I had another thread here last week looking for advice on ADAT preamps).

So what's your set up?

So Digi, what about that drum section?

An "All Things Drums" section sounds like a terrific idea to me. It'd be a great way to trade strategies on miking, treating, recording, mixing & effecting acoustic drums, as well as choosing and working with synthetic/electronic ones.
I'm getting ready to start shelling out for a good collection of microphones for my old Yamaha kit, so I'm one who could definitely make good use of the thread. Mark me down for a solid 'yea'!

Count me in, absolutely... Strike has great potential and should not be left out in the abyss of general VI topics. And Benoni is right, these guitar players are a bunch of motherless goats, and they get their own section?
(My main instrument is guitar... lol)
...but seriously...

All things Strike

I'm afraid there isn't the bandwidth to consider something like this at the moment. We'll revisit it once our plates aren't quite so full...

Hey thanks for a reply. We understand how busy you guys are right now. And while its a bit disappointing, we drummers have patience, and will keep up the fight the get drums their own section as they deserve.
