Default Serious AutoTune version 3.25 problems

I made the awful mistake of installing AutoTune 3.25 (upgrading from 3.22), and now it crashes Logic 6.1 with ProTools 6.1 immediately when I click on Preview. I tried to re-install AutoTune 3.22, but it won't install over 3.25. Also, I can't move AutoTune 3.25 to the trash. I get a 'The item "Auto-Tune 3 TDM (OSX)" cannot be moved to the Trash because it cannot be deleted." message.

Does anyone know how to get rid of AutoTune 3.25?

It would be better to get rid of Autotune 4 ever.
( sorry for the joke...)

Lee,

Thanks for the heads up regarding AutoTune 3.25. Try the suggestion at the bottom of this thread to remove the AutoTune plug-in:

wow... I read the thread from macrumors... all that BS just to delete a file... i hate to say it, but that's worse than DOS.

Don't get me wrong, I'd take any Mac OS over Windows, but, come on Jobs... why so anal?

rockridge, this has to do with UNIX permissions. While they can be confusing at first, these permissions can be very useful.

1. Enable root user by running 'netinfo manager' in Utilities. Verify password and Authenticate.
2. Log in as root user and you can do anything.
3. Remember to log back out and into your usual admin user.

... uh... if u say so, but if i'm the only user of a system, why do i need permission to do anythng.
Of course the real reason for all the security hoops is because Apple hopes to make OSX the OS of large corporations that really do need security.

I don't know if i'll be able to warm up to any OS that's structured like the new Mac OS, but from what i understand, even the new Windows OS, Longhorn, which will be out next year i think, won't be any better.

I just see too much control leaving our hands... "Hey Apple, how about Mac OS 9.5"... i wonder what kind of performance we would see if the G5 was optimized to run OS9 natively.

From what I've heard, Longhorn will make these Unix hoops seem like child's play.

Even so, I was somewhat surprised by the underlying complexity of OSX, now that I've really had to grapple with it. I had been using it for less intensive purposes on two other machines for a long time, and that was a piece of cake. You would think that they would have tried to make the organization of components less complex, and less scattered. Unsophisticated computer users must have one heck of a time figuring out how to back things up.
