remove artifacts/static

I have some audio files with a lot of continuous background static. Is there any way that this can be removed or lessened using Protools Free?

im betting its a bad connection somewhere in your setup. check for loose wires or bad mics. if that doesnt do anything, i would try running the dc offset removal plugin on the tracks. this may help it somewhat. good luck
