Six screws is really weird. How can it be possible?
I checked several editions of the D-command manual, pictures of units and they all have pictures that look exactly as my unit. Even fader plates on fader modules have five screws.

We have the same problems with our D-Command faders, and are considering cleaning the faders like CHD descriped.
But I was wondering, did anyone else already cleaned the faders with succes? Don't want to kill our D-Command... Thanks! |

I tried cleaning, ended up replacing with the new faders
the first of the black units still had the old faders (old stock I figure)

Thanks Craig, I'm affraid we have 'first edition' faders to... :-(
Perhaps we'll first try cleaning one or two faders. |

A couple years ago I was having this problem on my blue D-Command and Digi send me a new set of 24 carbon faders and I haven't had a problem since. Sound like they know what the problem is and there is a known fix. Good luck getting that outta Avid these days though...

Same here ,I just cleaned a bank of 8 "fighting" faders on a blue unit and it's back to normal.
