Re: PC doesn't read Mac (created) Pro Tools session
A lot of that would depend on which versions of PT you were using on each machine.
Normally you would save the session with Mac/PC compatibility checked and then transfer the session to a PC running 7.1 or later with the HFS+ support option in PT enabled. This always works better for me if the Session is copied to a local drive on the destination machine. Known deal breakers FAT32 formated HDD in PT 8.0 or later (possibly 7.4) Drive names containing more than 11 charactors (which includes spaces) Whether you are moving the session from HD to LE could also come into play.

Re: PC doesn't read Mac (created) Pro Tools session
Hey thanx for the quick reply Sunburst. I'm currently using PT 7 LE. And yes, the Session file was from an HD system using a Mac copied to a DVD disk. It's actually homework. I'm an AE apprentice. Just wondering if there was some kinda tricks or tips out there that I should know about. Or even if it's not fixable, It's got me wondering whether it's a descrepancy between the 2 systems (pc and Mac), a retroactive thing between newer and older versions, or both? For example, I have Reason4 and a friend of mine has Reason 3.4- he can send me his 3.4 files to work on, but if I send him mine, he can't open them up. ANyways. Thanx

What happens when you try to open the session?
Is the session possibly using SD2 files, which are incompatible with PC systems? |
