I think you have that backwards.

The question was; "Is this legal?"

Selling your own songs? Yes.

Selling songs you purchased? No.

It's actually not even possible directly (unless you convert them to a different format first).

The only thing possible that I could think of is reimbursement of a CD-r or something ($.05/disc now?). I'd stay clear from taking money for it.

Camilo,
Definitely NOT legal..
I even question just copying it without money involved..that would qualify as distributing copyrighted material on a tangible medium.

I am asking this because I watched a program from Discovery Channel about the iPod, and when Steve Jobs presented one of the first versions of ipod and itunes (don’t remember the exact version) he mention that the idea was to make users to "share their music", this drew my attention!!!, This sounds to me that sharing my music with itunes and ipods is not illegal.

I believe that copying my library to someone else is not OK (moral), but the question here is that is this REALLY illegal? I mean is it against the Law?, if it is, why letting users around the world copy their music to another "hard drive"???

IMO..it's really a matter of who owns the copyright to that track ?
It has been a few years since I worked at an APC ( Anti Piracy Compliance)department..
Logic dictates that every copy of artist XXX released on label YYY copied, takes away royalty income from their legal owners..
Go figure..
