inputs 3 & 4 of my 001 interface stopped working!

All of my inputs work fine, except 3&4 of my 001. Nothing registers when I plug any kind of mic or instrument into it........I have had the system for about 2 years, and have never had a problem until now. Is it possible that I have somehow "blown" the two channels?

Any quick fix ideas?

Yes, and besides, all of my other inputs work fine.

Did you notice a pop or an overload recently that eminated from what was plugged into 3 and 4? Even for a second?

I had a similar problem with 5 and 6 on my 001...pop, and then nothing. Also had mine two years.

I had to send it in for repair, and Digi sent me a whole new 001.

If the monitor mode button is pushed in you will not register anything coming in when in the PT session, only in playthrough.

If the monitor mode button is in, the only thing that will play through the PT monitor outs is what is plugged into ins 3/4.

It is possible you are experiencing a quality control problem many have had with the 001, poor solder joints that finally failed. Try wiggling the trs connector around with a signal coming it. If the signal cuts in and out, you need to have the solder points for the connector to the PC Board resoldered. If you are a reasonably good solderer, and not squeamish about taking your 001 apart, the DIY. Otherwise, find a local tech shop, or even a tech from a local sound company to do it for you. Have them do all the solder points on all the connectors, not just the ones that are defective.

Kind of an obvious thing, but did you check under Setups>Hardware>OtherOptions to make sure the inputs for 3&4 are turned up?

Check and see if inputs 3&4 are even activated in your I/O setup (under your menu Setup/I/O setup.) Click on the input tab and make sure 3&4 are activated. If that doesn't work, you most likely have a hardware prob. [img]images/icons/frown.gif[/img] [img]images/icons/confused.gif[/img]

What are you plugging in to them? Mic's won't work in 3-8 with out a pre amp.you should try a drum machine or sound module direct,if that does not work,then check your patching,cords etc.

Just in case: if you're trying to use monitor mode to listen to what's plugged in 3 and 4 without launching PT, remember that monitor mode does not work with the headphone, so you won't hear anything anyway.
