Default Pro Tools not starting on Surface Book

Hi all, I am totally new to Protools.
I just installed Protools 12.8.2 on my Surface Book and wanted to start it. But during Startup I receive an Error message:

"Unable to locate Hardware. Make sure your Hardware is connected and turned on"
Confirming this message Protools just quits.

I have no clue what Hardware does ProTools expect here?
Please help

Thanks
Lars

Welcome to the PT community. We'll try and help but something to keep in mind when asking for help here is to give complete system info elsewise time gets wasted.

First piece of hardware would be your iLok plugged into a working USB port. You do have that connected with the PT license asset on it right? A couple of things as regards the iLok - iLok's have known issues with not always working with computers with USB3 ports and the usual remedy is to use a USB hub between the computer & iLok. The second thing about iLoks - have you turned off all power savings measures in Windows Control panel? Windows computers by default have them turned on and that means the ports will shut down at some time and you'll lose communication with anything connected to said ports.

Other hardware would be an audio interface. You do have one connected and the proper drivers for it installed right?

If you don't have a separate audio interface, and want to use the Surface Books internal audio, PT needs an ASIO driver. Try downloading and installing the free Asio4All.
