(HELP) how to get pro tools 10 LE to communicate with fire studio project interface?

Hello all, I was wondering if any of you fine people could possibly help me out.
I am currently trying to connect my 10x10 firewire 8 pre amp fire studio interface to my pro tools 10? I currently connected the inter face via thunderbolt to my computer because i do not have a firewire port. I turned the device on, restarted the computer and opened pro tools 10 and checked my hardware under settings but i did not see the device pop up. Does any one have any tips to get my interface to work with pro tools? Thank you in advance
