Default Best Finalizer Plug-in?

I've been trying out Maxim, but it's just ok. Anyone out there recommend a particular finalizer plug-in besides the Waves stuff? I use RTAS. I may just have to break down and get the T.C. Electronics 96K outboard gear, but I'd like a plug-in. Thanks for the input!

I've heard great things about the Sony Oxford Limiter.

Forget about them. They are not that good.

Not any better than standard Digirack limiter and standard Digirack dither. Maxim is just those two in one package with crappy graphics.

You would probably get better results with the hardware, if you don't know what you're doing - and you apparently don't, if you think maxim is ok. TC limiters have lots of options and also they have a great algorithm to handle intersample peaks. Have you realised that the TC finalizer is not only a normalising limiter? It's way more powerful than that, hence the name. To get same results with plugins, you need to buy more than just a great limiter.

I like it too; however, it's not a limiter and definetely not a do-it-all mastering suite that a TC finalizer tries to be.

Good thing if you get the outboard gear, is that the re-sell value is much higher than a plug-in.....

Think about it!
