Default Compression Question

When using parallel compression with an AUX track is there a rule of maxing out the send from the Audi track or having the fader maxes or zero and then adjusting the send? Curious if there is a rule to this ?

There are no ‘rules’ with these kind of things.

Workflow wise, it makes more sense to send the full signal and adjust to taste the wet dry with the aux fader. When you have a mix going, you don’t really wanna be popping open the sends to see/adjust things.

Sometimes send more than one like a kick and a snare or set up a plug in for color. I find my self going back and forth
