Well clearly I was right about that. Trashing preferences is the worst thing you can do especially if you haven't gone and changed anything yourself.

External drive has zero effect on your crashes. You can bounce to a network drive if you want to. It is totally irrelevant.
yeah well evidently you're wrong in this case. Bouncing to an external drive does cause crash regardless of how updated your plugins are. Not everything in theory is correct.

PT software is agnostic regarding where you bounce. If it crashes, your system has a problem in itself. I bounce to external all the time, no crashes.

1. The reference file in Ozone: It cant be contained in an external drive when you close a session otherwise you'll crash. You must remove the reference file from Ozone, save then close.

2. The drive you bounce your master to. Must not be an external drive. Has to be the drive your session is in or your system drive.

(external = usb)

These 2 things I believe are what's been causing the crashes

So this begs the question, what other multiple drive issues does PTs have? I'm just glad I've got Ableton. I couldn't imagine going through all this drama while making music.
Hmmm, I have Ozone 8 and 9 on my rig and this has never happened here. Speaking of drives, it might be worth opening Drive Management and looking at how all your drives are formatted. They SHOULD all be NTFS and Basic(except for USB jump drives that may be FAT32). Sometimes drives get formatted as Dynamic(instead of Basic) and Pro Tools doesn't work on a Dynamic drive If that doesn't turn up anything, I would uninstall Ozone and download/install fresh
