MBox Pro 2 - run w/ firewire only or with adapter
I understand that you can run the MBox Pro 2 with the firewire cable ONLY, with no need to plug in the power adapter. Does it run just fine without the power adapter or are those of you with the MBox notice that it performs better with the power adapter also connected?

Re: MBox Pro 2 - run w/ firewire only or with adapter
Apparently not, as stated in the Mbox 2 Pro Getting Started Guide - DC Power "you should use external power if your 1394 bus is unable to provide enough power, or if you need to conserve battery power in a portable computer".
Although my Mbox 2 Pro has sufficient power to draw from (Desktop DAW) the DC Power supply runs 24/7 without a problem. filosofem

Re: MBox Pro 2 - run w/ firewire only or with adapter
Also, although I can't speak for Mac users, having a 'Digidesign approved PCI FW Adapter' improved the overall performance of the Mbox 2 Pro. No H/W Buffer Size errors and External Clock (S/PDIF) Playback is 'more' stable, on PC's.
