Default Pro Tools rejecting M-Audio Fast Track?

Hello,

For some reason, my M-Audio Fast Track is not working properly.

When I run ASIO4ALL and use my Fast Track, the audio glitches like crazy. Reasonably, I nudge my hardware buffer and sample buffer. It gets a LITTLE better, but not good enough.

I keep nudging until the hardware buffer AND sample buffer are SLAMMED, and I can finally hear the actual music, but not without clicks and pops. This happens with ONE stereo wav file. I know there's nothing wrong with the interface, because I can use it on my other computer without any issues.

I will say that I do have quite a small system drive (240 gig SSD) and am waiting for a new tray for my secondary hard drive, so I have to play files from my system drive. Would this be the problem? I've done this when I didn't know better, and never encountered this problem.

Thoughts?

Hmmm, playing sounds from the system drive CAN be problematic(which is why Avid wants a separate drive for sessions). Is there no current driver for the Fast Track? Using ASIO4ALL is somewhat of a "last ditch" effort. It completely hosed my rig and I had to uninstall it

It's a really, really old fast track. I can't find the driver. Plus, it worked on my last setup, so I'm very confused as to why it's not working now.

Any recommendations besides an interface upgrade? I know I need one (need a proper headphone amp/pair of cans anyway) but I can't spare the cash right this second.

Can you post your full system specs and exactly what Fast Track you have?
