Default RADIAL X AMP WITH MBOX 2 Do I need a di box?

I am looking into buying a Radial x amp re-amp box. I read alot about needing a di. The mbox 2 has a di input as well as a mic input. This may seem like a stupid question but is there any advantage to buying a di box for home recording or is it the same thing plugging into the mbox 2 di input? I want the best signal possible going to and from pro tools. Thanks.
