Default Help!! Recovering Tracks!!

Need some serious help here....when I opened my song file I noticed one small punch in track was missing...looked in audio files for it, wasn't there. Went to recovered files, there it was. How do I copy or move that small file back to where I need it? Obviously I can't open the 2 files at once to drag and like I said, the file I need isn't in the audio files. Greatly appreciated.

You can go to window -> workspace in pro tools and find the audio file and

just drag it to edit window.

It's not coming up there, either. I can see and hear the track on the recovered file, but can't find the audio file of it anywhere.

Try bringing the recovered session up and export the desired track, then import it into the "original" session.

Ok, I'll give that a try. Unfortunately I had to leave town and am not in front of pro tools. Thanks

Ok, just opened the recovered file but the "export" function isn't available. Import is, but not export. Any suggestions?

Ok, to be more specific here....The name of the specific track I need is acoustic32_22. When I open audio files all I see is acoustic 32. When I go to import the track from the recovered file, I get the entire acoustic track (unless I'm missing something) and don't see an option for just the short punched in segment that I need, acoustic32_22.

OK just so that we're on the same page, you're looking in the region list down the left side of the edit window and can see acoustic32, but not the region acoustic32_22.

Right clicking on acoustic32 does not show the export option as available?

The track is just titled acoustic, but the punched in segment I need is actually labeled by the system as acoustic_32-22 and I can't find it. Right-clicking on it doesn't give me the export option. I am running M-Powered 7.3.1, if that matters. Also, when I go into the audio files, I see acoustic_32, but it isn't the same one I need.

Also, not sure if this means anything, but when I go to the region tab everything underneath is gray, not available.
