Default Pro Tools and vista cpu problems

hi everyone. everytime i have a session running i always get an error saying that i am running out of cpu power after a little while of playback. i find this hard to believe because i have 3 gigs of ram and i only have 1 rtas plugin running which is toontrack drumkit from hell superior. in superior it says it is only using 677 mb of memory. i have 9 tracks running on a vista computer with amd athlon x2 processors and 3 gigs of ram with a 200 gb free on a 400 gb hard drive. thanks for any help.

Really need to know more details about your system. There are instructions for posting details at the end of the General Troubleshooting Post, as well as other suggestions/recommendations that may help.

Try all of the optimizations and configurations in the manual. Also disconnect all usb and other cables except for pro tools, monitor, keyboard and mouse and disable any anti-virus and spyware because all these programs use up precious CPU power. Good Luck!
