Default Duplicate track locks PT 8.0.4cs2

Well

Does anyone have this problem?

I just upgraded to PT LE 8.0.4cs2 on Win Vista business.

When ever I duplicate an instrument (right click mouse - pick duplicate) or vocal track (old files or newly created track in new file) PT locks up hard. Cannot even use task manager, its locked up that bad. Have to turn the power off and restart.

Am I the only one?

OOPS - I can get a sandra report by tonight, I am using 32 bit vista which is current with all upgrades (I know it stinks - I have Win7 32 bit upgrade waiting to be installed after I finish my current project) I am using an Mbox 2 with the latest audio drivers.

Has anyone upgraded a PT 8.0.4 from Vista 32bit to Win7 32bit?

I am sure someone has - are there any snags with doing this?? Should I wait until important projects are finished first?

IE -is it troublesome to upgrade????? or works out OK?

Well - I have traced this problem back to ProTools (8.0.3.cs2 and 8.0.4+) and Kore 2 V 2.1.2 do not play well together on both Vista 32 bit and Win 7 32 bit (2 different comps) - something in Kore 2 , when opening earlier created files - 8.0 PT plus earlier Kore 2 files, or loading Kore 2 as new overwhelms the sytem (using RTAS only).

My setup was fine with PT 8.0cs3 and early Kore 2 - but going to PT 8.0.4 and Kore 2 2.1.2 was NOT good.

Any one have any ideas?

Default Re: Duplicate track copy locks PT 8.0.4cs2 using Kore

This has just helped me with many PT and Kore 2 problems (from another thread) >> checking the "ignore errors during playback/record" under the playback engine << is on to something with Kore 2 and PT locking.

I would say that just toggling and saving the settings window (Ignore "on to off" to "on again" OR "off to on" then to "off" again and saving the form does wonders for me.

Also if I have pops and clicks that do not leave regardless of "buffer size" and "RTAS processors" settings used - just changing and saving the form after toggling the "ignore errors" removes the pops and seems to help the software stablilty.

If you open up PT blank and change the "ignore errors during playback/record" setting - save - then open up PT files seem to help problem files open.

I am wondering if the prefs file settings are not writing or saving correctly in some cases without the toggle (one way or the other)

Does this help anyone having problems?
